In the process of renewing Sam’s Club membership on 12/08/17; computer started to beep and say your computer has been breached, do not attempt to shut down; call 18774333061 for technical support. In panic, I called the number and spoke to someone named Chris from UPro who claimed someone had hacked into my computer files and that my computer needed to be reprogrammed in order to keep my personal information secure. Next, I was told that a one-time fee of $249.99 was required to proceed with the reprogramming. Reluctantly, I provided debit card information and my bank alert showed a charge of $249.99 was submitted by CTech Group. Chris them said he needed me to log in and someone with CTech would begin the process of cleaning and making sure there was no breach. Later, Josh from CTech Group called and left a voicemail stating that he had almost completing the process but lost connection; he only needed to install an antivirus software. I called the number provided 814.461.5626 and a young lady answered; I asked for Josh and she seemed unfamiliar with the name; she said if he hadn’t called me back within the hour, for me to call back again. I called back but did not get an answer.
