Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

A lady named CRUZ OCTIE contacted us regarding an item we had online. Explained that she wanted to purchase the table but would be transferring us our portion of the cash and some additional money for the shippers that she had trouble contacting when the check was being made. The item was on sale for $450 and the lady sent $1,780. (first red flag)… when I received the check and a bizarre letter asking me to contact EDWIN NIOLA for further instructions, this was a clear sign of a scam. They also instructed that $40 was for gas and the rest was for the shipper that should be transferred at my nearest western union at walmart. NOW… who sends a stranger $1700 for a $450 item?!?! I immediately googled the phone number and names and found several reports online where the phone numbers had also been reported. I should mention that I also found a story EXACTLY like ours. We’ve messaged the lady instructing that the table is no longer for sale and will be returning the check to the address on the envelope. Hope these fools get caught!
