The company calls repeatedly with an automated service and states that they are attempting to collect a debt. They give you a reference number, and a number to call to have your name removed. When you call the number back, they ask for your zip code. You cannot talk to anyone. If you call the number to have your name removed, it is a private individual.

Type of a scam Credit Repair/Debt Relief

I have been called twice by the number 888-745-3191. They ask for me by name and then ask me to verify my street address. I tell them I don’t give out personal information. I ask what they are calling about and they won’t tell me until I give them the street name. I said no again and they reply with "ok, we note that you refused to give us information". I then hung up. When I called this number back, it comes up with Credit Protection Association. I’ve never heard of them, but they refuse to give any information as to why they’re calling.
