My daughter registered with Care.com to babysit this summer. This person got her information from the website and texted her about babysitting his 4 year old daughter this summer. He was coming here from New York for work and his wife had cancer and couldn’t come. Emails were exchanged and family pictures (who knows whose family he sent us). My daughter sent a detailed calendar of when she would be available, etc. We actually thought this was legit until we received an advance check by Fed Ex for $1952.00. Ten minutes later he texted my daughter to deposit the check immediately so that she could buy some things from The Toy Cellar for the daughter. I tried to call the number he had texted from to clarify what the prepayment was for. I was bounced around a google account and left a message. No return phone call was received but he continued to text my daughter to deposit the check. I assume it was the wipe your account out and the check was no good scheme. I already tore the check up and threw it away but it was from a bank in San Francisco. I didn’t think about sending it to you. I do still have the Fed Ex label from New York. I feel like my daughter almost lost her graduation money she had just deposited and wanted to get the word out to others who like herself just started summer babysitting for the first time through a website.
