Type of a scam Debt Collections

person called me the first time and told me that he had some court papers he needed to deliver to me. what was it about? He said I was delinquent on debt then he gave me another number to call to get things right so I called and the lady "Casey Jones" said that I could pay it off 4500$ with paying only 1500$. She said she represented some law firm in L.A. I told her that I had to research the matter and insisted that if I didn’t pay with card she would have to file some papers and a bench warrant would be issued. Now the initial caller from the North Carolina number called me the first time with a number from Florida. Now I called the number a couple of times and I started grilling the scammer to which he got upset and hung up on me a couple of times. now im getting harassed again but i told this guy to let me know how I can resolve this and I will furnish more info on these people.
