Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

We are a small business just starting family owned. Company is slightly growing but not to the fullest. Finances are almost day to day first thing we get in the mail is a letter that if we dont purchase the Labor Law Poster we will be fined. Since we are just starting didn’t need a fine at the moment we could not afford. So we sent in the money order on April 20th 2018 it is now May 29th 2018 and we haven’t received anything in the mail. I look up the business name online because the notice also has no number to call customer serivce just in case and it turns out that there are scam claims on this company. It is really sad that there is heartless people that take money from others that are just starting a company to support our families and every penny we spent is towards neccessities that we need and can’t afford to spend on things not needed. Please be careful. We paid don’t know how many others have.

Received a fake looking invoice about ‘labor law compliance’ and needing to pay $84 for a fake poster to display. The invoice has lots of legal looking language, but no official logos or marks or contact points to look up the legitimacy. The return invoice and return envelope looks too generic.

Corporate Compliance Services sent a fake invoice for $84 to pay for a poster required by US Dept of Labor. CCS is not affiliated with the DOL, which actually provides the poster for free. This scam by phone and mail is duplicated in multiple states, with this sender already receiving hundreds complaints.

I received a mailer saying pay $84 or risk a $17000 fine for not having this poster displayed in the workplace. I don’t have any employees and the business ID on the mailer seems bogus. Lots of other consumers have reported this scam here.

New business owners beware! I received a notice titled "Labor Law Compliance Request Form" requesting $84.00 from me for a required labor law poster for my new LLC. I’m so happy that a relative who started his own law firm warned me that scammers may send fraudulent money requests targeting my newly formed business, and after putting the address information from this "invoice" into my Google search I got confirmation from multiple sources that this was bogus. What’s so messed up about this is that the notice LOOKS very legitimate and professional, but in fine print on the back of the notice it states that this is a "solicitation and not bill due" from a "non-government approved publisher." Almost had me fooled.

After recently incorporating a single member LLC in CA, I received a "notice" from Corporate Compliance Services in Houston, TX using scare tactics to tell me I owed a $84.00 to obtain required CA labor law posters. They attempt to scare the recipient saying you can incur $17,000 in fines if you don’t comply with posting the CA labor law posters.

We received two letters to our business address for each of our trade name companies which looked like invoices for payment to ‘Corporate Compliance Services’. The form was titled ‘Labor Law Compliance Request Form’ and seemed to include business ID information and more. The form was requesting payment by check or money order for $84.00 to provide us with a ‘compliant labor law poster’ which we are informed is required by federal law to be posted in our offices. There are typing and spelling errors in the document but on the whole it looks very authentic except for the conspicuous absence of any kind of mailing address, email address, website, or other contact information. Also the phone number provided never picks up even after multiple attempts.

This organization solicits people who have recently set up an LLC and targets them to pay $80 to $100 in order to have a Labor Law Poster sent to you and they claim it is required. This organization is a shame.

Started an LLC in Maryland. Soon thereafter received a letter in March 2018 demanding $84 for a labor law poster that the federal Dept of Labor gives out free of charge. This business is illegally posing as a govt entity to threaten business owners with fines they have no right to collect. Should be shut down and penalized.

This company sends an official-looking letter advising recipient to purchase labor law posters or else violate federal law. It is $84.00. I unfortunately spoke with another business owner who had already done it and received his posters. So I trusted him and it. Turns out they cashed my check but never sent the posters. They are unreachable by mail or phone and have no website or email address listed. DO NOT purchase the posters. The federal and state labor departments will have free posters for you and a service that aids in finding out which ones you need.

Scam to convince new businesses that they need to pay $84 for something that is supplied free by the government. Clearly states this on the back of the form, if you read it.

I’ve received an official looking invoice for my business and was immediately concerned. The invoice stated that a labor law poster was not displayed and that I could be fined because of non-compliance. My business does not have a physical location nor does it have employees so I was confused. When I tried to call the customer service number I wasn’t able to get through for 3 days straight. The invoice had no return address nor website and when I read the back of the paper it says that "Corporate Compliance Services is a third party non-government publisher". I decided to google and found BBB where lots of other new business had the same issues. I’m glad for google and BBB! Though I may try calling again, I genuinely feel like this is a scam and BBB kept me informed.

this company finds new businesses and sends them a "labor law compliance request form" that looks very much like a government doc. They say you must post a labor poster for your new company or you’ll be fined up to $17,000. There is a "notice date" and a "respond by date" There is a "document fee" of $84.00. In VERY small print on the back of the doc it says this company is a third party and isn’t affiliated with the government at all. This labor poster is available free from the gov. The whole doc looks very real and I’m sure tons of new businesses are being scammed everyday.

Called the number several times in the past few weeks and no one ever answers. They are “extremely busy” during start hours. Then I went online to search another number and I’d this as a scam.

Received a letter from Corporate Compliance Services. Phone # 202-729-9969.

The notice is official looks and is intended to imply they are are goverment agency concerning compliance with Labor Laws.

Topic is the official posting of current labor laws in the office.

The are trying to extract $84 for a poster.

This type of scam is outrageous and is pulling on the fear that small business would have from federal agencies that could disrupt their livelihood in order to extract $.

Shameful.
