I have been receiving debt collection letters from these people for 16 years trying to get me to settle a "debt" for a bank account that was closed in good standing. They say my total balance is 637.97 and it can be settled in full for 318.99. SIXTEEN YEARS this account has been closed. This is obviously a scam and they should stop wasting resources to harass innocent people.

I was contacted 2 (TWO) times by Convergent Outsourcing, Inc. out of Renton, WA .Letters Dates: 12/22/2015 and 01/28/2016. I was advised by Convergent as a representative of "Comcast" that I owed over $1400 for an old account. The first letter I kept because I realized it was a mail scam and reported it to the Mississippi AG’s Office.

The 2nd letter I got was dated 1/28/2016. I drove to my nearest Comcast/Xfinity office where one of the Customer Service Rep’s actually called Convergent and the woman on the line wanted me to confirm the last 4 digits of my SSN where I declared to the woman by speaker phone with the Comcast CSR that this was mail scam, She initially said well it must be mistake and hung up.

I received a letter stating I owe Comcast 799.74 dollars. I never had any cable or dish service in my life. Including Time Warner . The 38 years I lived in Illinois was the only time Comcast was the broadcast provider and my father had it under his name in our family home. I live in California now and don’t have any cable type of service in my name or in my apartment for that matter.
