Type of a scam Debt Collections

On 4/28/20 I received a phone call from a person named as Amanda

Davenport who said she worked for Consumer Collections. Said I had a past due bill of $393.27 from USA Diagnostics. I told her that I did not know of that lab and had never received any bills from them. She said that they had sent two bills in the last two months to my address (which she knew).

I asked her for the number of the lab that was supposedly sending these bills and she gave me the number of 504-370-0189. I told her I would call them and get back with her. She then told me that she could save me $200.00 on this bill if I would give her a credit or debit card at that moment. I told her I would get back with her after I called the company at the 504 number. She gave me her number of 618-88-1117 to call her back. I called the number and a woman named Joseline answered the phone and told me I had the wrong number. I call back again (the same 504 number) and the woman answered the phone as Consumer Collections . The supposed company I got the first phone call from. Obviously these two women were working together trying to trick me into giving them a debit or credit card.

Beware…………….do not give your credit or debit card to any collection agencies that you have not received anything in writing and that you do not know of any past due bill. I am in my mid 60’s, but I am not a foul. Know you bills and do not give out any information unless you are absolutely sure of who these people on the phone are!
