Was sent a survey by Survey Monkey, for a Walmart Secret Shopper. Was notified by text that I was approved and that I would be receiving my instructions and a check for my services.

An envelope arrived with a letter of instructions and a check for $1,580 and immediately I received text messages to deposit the check in my checking account.

The Secret Shopper instructions are as follows:

After depositing the check, purchase $80 worth of personal merchandise. Make notes on the store, greeters and cashier.

Then go to Customer Service and purchase three $400 gift cards, again making notes on service. Carefully scratch the backs of each card and take a picture of them and the store receipt. Send the pictures to 626 800 4507.

I returned a text to the number I had received and asked for their address to return the check-that I would not participate. I have not heard back.

I received a priority mail letter with a letter and a check for $995.00. The letter indicated I was to deposit the check to my bank account the go to Walmart and make a $30.00 purchase.. Noting the customer service info.. Such as cashiers name, friendliness, etc. Then I was instructed to make a $700.00 Walmart2Walmart transfer to a Joseph Mayson in Atlanta, GA. The letter also indicated that the remaining $250.00 would be mine as reimbursement for completing this research program.

Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

Received a pop up message on my phone that I had been selected as a secret shopper for Walmart. Received a check for $1,588.00 from Del-One Federal Credit Union in Wilmington DE with instructions to deposit in my bank then send them a Moneygram for $1218 within 2 days of the transfer. The whole thing seemed suspicious so I did some research and found that Walmart does NOT participate in any secret shopper programs.
