Type of a scam Government Grant

I follow one of my favorite islands on Instagram and wish I could do more to help them recover from the hurricanes last year. Then, this woman claiming to be from that island asked if I was aware of an individual grant by the government. I told her I know there are government grants asked that she tell me about this one. She then proceeded to tell me that it is called Community Individual Grant, you don’t pay the money back and you can use the money for anything you want. I just need to apply for it by contacting a person at the email address [email protected] Turns out the contact name is Brian. I told him I would love to help my favorite island, and I hope this is a legitimate grant. He asked that I complete a form, which I did (didn’t contain personal information like SSN). He then stated he had to check his database to see if I’m qualified. Amazingly enough, I qualify. Ha! He then sent me an email with the amount I qualify for (crazy amount!) and asked that I send him a fee via Western Union to cover the expenses of this money. That’s when I knew this was a scam! This kind of scam just preys on people wanting to do good. Really makes me mad!
