Company cold calls and asks if you are interested in receiving free copies of a professional journal. During the conversation they gather information about you, and nonchalantly ask for your birthday without providing any context, and use the fact you give it to them as means to say you have entered into a contractual agreement to pay their invoice, if you do not cancel it. Then they send the invoice to a collections agency if you do not pay it, even if you have told them you want to cancel.
