Received an invitation from a friend online for a secret shopper job. They sent me a check for $1,960.30 The address on the check was a P.O. Box? I called the back and they confirmed this was a fake check.

Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

Person used a friends linked-in account. I have been friends in linked for years when the message was sent to me.

I fill out the survey for being a shopper but after I hit enter it felt wrong. I looked for the message again and it was gone as well as my network connection. I reached out to my friend via Facebook and she said she never sent anything and must have been hacked.

The cashier check has no bank phone number or address on it.
