Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I recieved an email in my school account about making extra money with Codi Survey Services and getting paid $300 for it. I get these emails all the time but this is the first time i went through with it. They mailed me a letter with a questionnaire in it and a check for $2985. They texted me and gave me instructions on depositing the check, what to buy and where to buy it from. I did it and they said to take photos of the items and the questionnaire and text it to them. Then they said that they will contact me in a couple days with instructions for the second task. I check my account and now its -$2985 because they reveresed the check (I’m assuming). I called their phone and now its disconnected when it used to ring.
