Someone (female) claiming to be a representative from ADT Alarm Services called our home this afternoon, 9/1/15. They called from phone# (855) 835-3964 and said it was a random call to homes with ADT services installed but not currently in use. Since our ADT alarm is installed AND IN USE, I was immediately skeptical and frankly very upset that we are paying monthly to maintain monitoring of the system and was, effectively, being told that it’s not active or ‘in use’. I asked to speak to a Manager and was placed on hold. Another female representative came on the line and apologized for the ‘miscommunication’ and said she could see that we were an active account. At that point I questioned why I would receive such a ridiculous call and also wanted to know if I needed to call a different department within ADT to verify that our alarm was indeed being serviced. She asked for our information (credit card, etc.) to verify and I told her there was no way I was giving personal information to someone randomly calling customers and hung up. Both my husband and I have contacted ADT today – this call was a scam and the (855) number listed above is no longer in use. Please follow up so no one else falls prey to this call.
