I got a voicemail from Civil Location Services saying they are trying to get in contact with me. They have my first and last name. The message said they will move forward with something without my consent. They left a phone number to call them back at 888-524-7065.

I received a text from Civil Location Services that there was an open investigation against me and I needed to contact them with a case number (that they provided). I called the number and an agent, Rick Sanchez, informed me that there was a lawsuit against me from a bank that I once had an account with about 10 years ago for an unpaid balance. This man informed me that they tried to reach me numerous times by mail at 2 different addresses (both addresses were places I lived at years ago but no longer and have not lived in for about 9 years to 10). He said because I did not pay or "respond to numerous attempts" that it has been deemed as malicious intent and I will now be going to court. He provided me an amount that I could pay and then put me on hold. After he took me off of hold he informed me that he was able to reduce the amount to an "out of office settlement amount". He said I should contact the bank that was suing me to check the validity of this issue and provided me a client claim number. I called said bank and they could not direct me to the department that was suggested by Rick Sanchez. I kept offering a claim number but the bank never needed it. I went to the bank and they said it was a scam. I was originally told by Rick Sanchez that I had until 5PM that day to make a decision to pay with a credit card or I will be going to court. I have contacted a lawyer and the 311 Fraud Department who both confirm this is a scam. I was then contacted today by the same company stating that since I have not complied, they will be sending legal documents to my place of work.

Type of a scam Debt Collections

Today I received the second of two phone calls for the same type of "debt collection." Today it was a call from a Marissa from Civil Location Services (ref# 280-01762). They claim that I owe Wells Fargo $1686 from an account that I closed in 2009. She claimed that the debt was sold to a third party in 2011. . This lady told me her company just acquired this account and wanted to settle with me or the bank would file a civil suit against me. I told her I received the same type of call from a different "collection agency" and I was supposedly going to be served at my home (which never happened). When I protested that I don’t owe Wells Fargo and I wasn’t sending anything and to prove to me what she was talking about she became very rude. The call ended with her saying that she was going to report it. I told her fine and hung up. This clearly doesn’t make any sense because if this were true, Wells had sold the debt then it’s no longer their problem. Why would they file a suit on a debt they no longer have?

Contacted me by my maiden name which I haven’t gone by in well over 12 years, told me to contact 888-450-6830 in regards to an open investigation and reference a case number which they supplied me via text message.

This is ridiculous, they since have called me twice from a Non caller ID number, I told them to lose my number, that they have the wrong person! I told them I know they are a scam…they told me that they are suing me!
