Signed up Facebook for free child safety kits months ago. Someone called said they were in the neighborhood and wanted to come by to bring kits. I said let’s mail them. She was pushy about bringing them by. Ended the call, got acall back twice within last two days, husband answered second time and she refused to discuss with him. This is a scam either trying to steal childs identity or sex trafficking. I’m on high alert!!

I’m not sure if this was a scam but it seemed like it to me. He looked legit through the zoom meeting. It was for a child safety kit. He had my birthdate, phone number, and house address. Then he started asking for my children’s personal information. His name is Michael Romero and 918 140 7139 was the meeting ID number I logged into. Now I’m scared because they know where I live.

On Facebook there was a page to get child safety kits. From that page Facebook asks for your shipping address. From there a woman called me saying a man would stop by to drop off the kit. “Seth Green” showed up at my house to discuss the issuance of the child safety kit. I did not answer the door as I found out this was a scam. I did not give any information after I knew it was a scam. Reporting the phone numbers used.

It was a lady that called me. But she wanted to video chat on zoom or WhatsApp. I heard a guy on my back ground taking on the phone. That made me more skeptical about the call. All she send me was a number to the zoom, supposedly is a link but it wasn’t. During that call I said, I would not like to proceed with this "interview" she then asked why and as soon as I tried to answer she couldn’t hear me anymore. What a coincidence.

Saw an ad on Facebook advertising free safety kits supported by the police. Input my information and received a phone call from one of their local representatives. She wanted to come to my house but due to COVID we had a phone conversation instead. I spoke with her on March 27, 20202 via a ZOOM meeting. She advised how to use the kit and that she would mail it out. I contacted her on April 24th, 2020 to advise I had not received the kit. She said she has been sick but will get it out soon. I’ve yet to receive it and this woman now has my child’s information (birth date, name and address). After more research, I’ve seen similar posts about it being a scam.

I thought I was requesting a package from a company backed by the police force. They said it was supported and free due to funding from my local police force. They would send me a child safety kit. I never received it but a long time later I received a call about bringing the packet to me and they will help me fill it out. I refused to set a date because I wanted to research it even though they stated it was back and payed for through the local police force. I now see it’s a scam. I told them to call me back in two weeks when I had more time to set a date. This was done without giving my address. I did tell them I no longer live in Roger’s County but Craig County and they still wanted to meet with me. I’d like to know if anyone would like to pose as me somewhere in Craig county and do a sting operation catching them collecting "a childs info" and stating they are backed by law enforcement. Maybe even provide a false social to catch them using it for illegal purposes. Not sure if its worth anyone’s time but I have their number and they are calling me back in 2 weeks. As of 2/26/2020. I hate scammers!!!
