Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

Hello,

Last month I received an email from a college student regarding a secret shoppers ad. I went to the website and did fill out my information.

Yesterday, I received an envelope from New Jersy, totally forgotten that I had given away my information to this secret shopper site which they call themselves "Certified Reports Inc" and inside is a check for $2,340 and instructions that literally an 8-year-old could type. It had spelling errors, and the information was vague and the name was John Johnson with an icloud account and a 859-363-5710 number to call "ONLY".

The instructions required to deposit into my personal account a cashier’s check who claims to be "Arkannsas Federal Credit union" which is spelled completely wrong. I knew something is completely wrong!

So I called the credit union to inform them, and they are aware of the fraudulent check.

I called the 859-363-5710 and the person is bologna pretending they could not hear me and kept asking if they could hear me.

It’s true, if it’s too good to be true, it’s a scam guys!

I’m so glad I followed my instincts and I know that it can be hard sometimes when money is really needed, but that action could hurt others and even hurt ourselves even further! Be alert, ask questions, re-read, look for errors, they are there!
