I lost $899.00 to this “student loan forgiveness.” They stated that I would not have to pay back my loans if I make 3 payments dived from $899. I let them know that I was still a current student and they said they would handle all of the paperwork. Now, 3 years later I haven’t heard back from them until I emailed them recently and they told me they didn’t contact me because everything was on my borrower and to contact them. I asked about the payments that I made and where that had gone, they stated that was the application fee which was not mentioned to me at all during the process. They told me it was all going toward my student loans. At that time, I was scrambling to get that $ so I could be free from my student loan debt and they just took $899 and ran.

Initially this company contacted me regarding my student loan for consolidation and repayment. At first I was told given my income and family size i qualified for the $0 pay back plan. There was a miscommunication on the income and they needed the household to include my husband since we file our taxes together. That was no big deal considering the income documents are provided were accurate. However, after receiving my husbands income, they later quoted me $54 repayment. But they needed $700 processing fees for the loan payment. Not to mention because I couldn’t pay the fee up front they needed $100 more to break the payment in half. I figured it was worth it considering my other financial situations, I needed a better repayment plan on my student loan. Since then I received a monthly payment of $135, no where near the amounts I was quoted. I have tried contacting CDS and my account manager Sean Thompson, numerous times and have not received a call back. I’ve called the customer service line and everyone refers me to my account manager who scammed me in the first place. I am going to continue to call daily until I can talk to someone who can fix their error. I will be filing a small claims to get my "processing" fee returned because they did not process anything, all they did was consolidate my loan and that could have been done anywhere for free. They try to lock you in by giving you a good deal and then lie and scam you once you’ve already given them their information. I do not recommend anyone use this company for loans.
