My sister signed for a student loan with my son back in 2008, Central Credit Services sent her a letter in May 2017, stating that the debt was $28,064.28 (which is not true) and they would settle for $5,561.69. At first she believed them and was willing to have my son take the offer. After a couple of weeks, they said they would accept $3,000 in three increments of $1,000 each. They called her on Saturday, which struck me as odd, collection agencies hours are usually Monday-Friday. We realized it sounded too good to be true and checked the BBB website to find a couple of complaints already reported.

Sent me a letter stating I owed Centurylink money. The funny thing about it- I have the closing statement that says my billed was paid in full the day I closed my account because I moved a year ago. Nice try though. I’m not stupid. Be warned.

A company by the name of ?*** *** *** LLC, formerly ?***, LLC, 20 ?*** *** Dr. St. Charles, MO 63301 or P.O. Box 1880 ?** *** **, phone number, 1-888-355-?***, has been calling and sending in the mail a request for payment for a hospital bill which was paid in 2006, per in network agreement by ?***. It is now 2015! They claim that they are collecting from the current creditor, ?*** ***, LLC and that the original creditor was Tempe ?** *** Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. Since Tempe ** *** Hospital is well aware that they were paid in full, I believe that this is a scam or attempted extortion, either way very disturbing and punishable by law. Also, when attempting to call, I get a voice mail to leave a message…no live person.
