Type of a scam Tech Support

After opening a computer the screen freezes with an Alarm on Security Invasion, and a superimposed message from Apple.com warning of ID loss if technical services are not called immediately. The technical support people then sure that the problem can be fixed and begin doing so. Then comes the cost. Technical services are rendered at high cost but giving the impression of protecting against imminent ID theft. The process of "fixing" the computer takes several hours. A Google Chrome website was downloaded. An Adware block was installed. (Both these are free downloads.) I have checked with Apple on this and they do not send out Security Alarms instructing anyone to call technical services. Celox’s technicians may have been in India to gauge by the accents during phone calls phone.
