Type of a scam Advance Fee Loan

They email you an approval with a phone # to call. They even have a professional menu to access customer service. But you always get the same guy. They offer you 3 ways to secure the loan, by co-signer, collateral, or insurance payment for loan. Most will opt for the insurance as they don’t have good credit or collateral.

They offer the loan with a 7% rate which is the hook. But then you e-transfer or go to a CIBC bank to deposit the funds.

I applied for a loan and thought I had been referred to a broker and I received and email and then 2 phone calls. I was told of approval with 3 types of security for loan options

1- collateral such as a vehicle

2-consigned with collateral

3-loan insurance purchased up front as collateral

Insurance was paid by etransfer for $1250 with what I was told was a legal binding agreement and loan money was never received. Asked for refund and would only say so over the phone and has not responded to multiple emails asking for confirmation of cancelation and refund. When I called the same day for cancelation and wanting money back he got mad at me and asked if someone had called me and if I had gone online and read bad things. He told me to give the loan time and said he knows that some people had gotten calls that day about a scam. I emailed he person the money transfer went to asking the name of the insurance firm and when I called the next morning saying to cancel he was mad and said he knows I had text (which I hadn’t I had emailed) to cancel (which isn’t what I asked) and said a refund Chq was being processed and would be received by me in 5-7 business days. I do not think at this point I will get my money and I have emailed multiple times and he will not respond. He says his name is Freddie Green also a second phone number of +1 (226) 220-9211 was also used when he called me.

Company said they were in Kitchener but their phone number is out of BC. On their website they show Benny’s Car Cleaning Garage as their business office. They offered me a loan of 10,000 but said due to my credit score I would need to purchase a $650.00 loan insurance policy from them via e transfer and that they would release the funds 20 minutes via direct deposit once I paid their fee. I asked for loan documents and documents regarding the insurance and they never did send them to me. This is the email they sent to me
