I received a letter in the mail on July 9, 2019 with the letterhead, Card Fraud Detection. They even had my bank in the letter. It stated that there had been recent transactions on my card that indicates someone else may be using my debit card without my knowledge.

I called the number in the letter. Recording stated that due to high phone volume ple[censored]d. Then it asked me to enter my card number, which I did. Then it asked me for my last four digits of my SS#, again which I did. Then it ask to enter my birthday, which is when I finally got suspicious and hung up. I hope it’s not too late for me. When I used the reverse phone book, it popped up as "High Risk Spam". Please alert others. Should I call local police?

Type of a scam Credit Cards

Received a letter stating that there had been a possible fraudulent transaction on my credit card. I called the number given on the letter and spoke to a woman. She wanted to cancel my card over the phone right then without proper credentials and never gave me her name. She also asked for the last 4 digits of my social security number. I told her that I would talk to someone at my bank, which I did. Then, I searched and found that someone else had reported them so I’m doing it as well.
