Type of a scam Online Purchase

I placed an ad on Craigslist for some furniture for sale for an optometry office. I got a response very quickly via email, and they asked for my cell phone to communicate more easily, and the scammer said he was very interested in purchasing. We agreed on a price and a date to pick up the item. He said he would send me the money via paypal, and that I should wait for an email from paypal to confirm the receipt of the money. He also asked repeatedly for my paypal email address and seemed to ignore other details of the transaction. I received an email from "[email protected]" with the subject "***PayPal Payment Received From Cameron Williams ***Transaction ID:C840-L001-Q999-***????????????????" I also checked my paypal account at the same time and did not see any money in my account. When I called him out on the problem, he stopped answering my texts.
