Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

I found what I wanted from Craigslist (first time I ever used it). The Merchant said he had had to travel before to show his tent trailer and the person never showed, which made him want a guarantee that protected both of us before making a commitment. The only reason that I felt okay with this was because of the Amazon name and my years of doing business with Amazon. They have to protect your customers who rely on them. It would be easy to program.a caution on any attempt to use the buisness’s name! I bought $3000 of Amazon gift cards to hold in escrow until after the inspection then I was to use a PIN number to either release the money to the seller or back to me. He didn’t show and needless to say there wasn’t a site to use the PIN number on. He and someone on "Amazon’s Chat assistant" (probably him) perpetuated this scam against someone usually very aware and cautious of these things.
