Type of a scam Employment

Gave them my forms required for employment. They have my SSN. They have everything a business needs to know about an employee. They have a real building, with a real sign.

I received packages for a month and was promised payment after. Never received. I was never contacted again.

Type of a scam Employment

I got an email from this "company" around June 17, 2020. They claimed I applied to one of their positions from the Indeed job board or they found my resume on indeed, I can’t remember which. They seemed legitimate, they have a physical address and a phone number. They called me and explained the job was very simple, which was to basically receive packages to my house and to remove the labels, relabel them with the labels they upload, and ship them through UPS, FedEx, etc. When payday came (they offered a generous amount of money for the little work I did) nothing came in and suddenly, they stopped answering phone calls, and they did not respond to emails. I did some further digging in this type of work and it turns out that these false companies, or scammers, use innocent peoples’ addresses to have stolen goods shipped to them and then reshipped so that the items are not traced back to them. They seemed legitimate up until the end. I wasted 6 weeks in what I may get in trouble for. If it seems too good to be true or if it seems in any way fishy, trust your gut, please. I was smart enough to keep record of the original labels and other information. Do not fall for these scams!
