I received a text message offering me a position as Executive Administrative Assistant with ********* ********** ******** **** I asked where they found my information they said on ziprecruiter.com. I asked them to email me about the position, they emailed a job PDF, it looked legitimate and the person was very responsive. The first day was fine, they sent me a docusign form to fill out with a W2 and request for my ID. I sent the documents over and they said I can begin my training the next day. I received an email that my first task for my training is to write an essay on being an Executive Administrative Assistant and it would be timed. I finished, they said good work and then emailed me a form to provide my bank information for direct deposit. I filled out the form and tried to email it back but my email bounced back with the message "Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender" this happened twice. I text my contact and let them know what was happening and they said they’ll look into it but in the meantime text them the bank information, huge red flag. I went back to the emails they sent and it looked odd like someone had added characters to the email to make it look almost like what the real email would look like. I immediately locked down my credit reports. I went to Linkedin to see if the person who contacted me "******* ******" was really with Bilfinger, the page came up with that name but the picture was blurred and there was no information. I stopped all contact and blocked the person from calling me and reported them to ScamPulse.com and the FTC. The scary thing is that everything looked legitimate until the email bounce. These people are preying on people’s desperation in these trying times, people need to work and they are being victimized by these scammers.
