An individual contacted me stating that they were from the Baltimore City Sheriff’s Office and that I had warrants out for my arrest due to failure to appear for a federal jury duty. They told me that if I didn’t pay portions of my bail amounts that I would be arrested and an officer would come to my house. They had me pay them via Green Moneypak cards from 7-11 locations using cash from my bank account in Baltimore city for a total sum of $4800. They had me mail the moneypaks to the IRS at the correct IRS address. They also gave me citation numbers, the address and phone number for the Baltimore City Sheriff and badge numbers. They stayed on the phone with me for four hours and told me to go to the Sheriff’s office when we were finished on the phone to complete paperwork. The man on the phone was extremely manipulative and comforting at the same time when I was clearly distressed and told me that if I called anyone else while I was on the line with him that there would be another citation added to my case for talking about an open investigation.
