Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

In the our local news paper, I saw an add saying babysitter please contact me at [email protected] I responded for the job and the wife answered my name is Dana and my husbands name is Tyler and we are looking for someone to watch our three year old son, we will be paying $400 dollars a week, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, four hours a day. I thought at first that’s too good to be true but then I thought maybe they are paying me Nanny wages. Then she said she was married to her husband for five years and they lived in Australia which they are moving to here in Strathmore and that to give them information my full name, age, phone number, my adress, and experience. So I responded with my information and that my family is my mom and my sister vistes us every once in awhile. Then she responded to confirm my information and that the will send a check in for $3,950 but at first I mistakenly misread it and thought they said $390 so I agreed and told me they will arrive next weekend which was February 3 and 4 2018. So January 18th came along and I get the check and went to my bank to deposit it and my bank said that it will take 5 banking days to clear. So I told them and they told me that once it goes through withdraw the money to give to their store manager and I pearsonally talked to them on the phone and I was to excited it slipped my mind and said ok bye see you when you get here. After I got to thinking there is something fishy so I said my mom if does go through I will keep it anyway just in case. Before the five banking days came, they bugged me everyday. January 23 came which was five banking days, and I went to my bank and they said it didn’t go through(thank god for my bank)and they asked what it was for, I said I not really sure, they said that usually they don’t accept a lot of money. I left and went to my local Tim Hortons and text them sorry it didn’t go through, they got upset and said sorry my bank didn’t allow it and there’s nothing I can do about it but I hope to see you next weekend. That was it and out of all that I just owe my bank $30 because I saved some money they gave of $200 but I spent $40 not on purpose and I just had a feeling to save it. But I did a stupid thing and looked online, there was others that was a victim and I got upset and deleted everything but kept there email and phone number.

I wanted to report it so nobody else gets scammed or they tried to scam them. I also hope the don’t get away with it.
