Type of a scam Phishing

I was contacted via e-mail indicating I could receive a big discount on my ATT Direct TV. I called and was told that my bill could be reduced to $66.67 per month for two years that included HBO, Starz, Showtime and MAX and it would also include the NFL stations. All I had to do was get an EBAY card for $400.00 and I would be paid up for six months. I would not have to pay a bill until March of 2020. I paid the $400.00 on an EBAY card. Two days later I received a text indicating the cards did not go through and I would have to send another $400.00 and they would refund the First $400.00 with a $50.00 additional amount as well as a gift card in the amount of $150.00. I stupidly sent them the additional $400.00. Then I received a text indicating that EBAY only does refunds in the amount of $1,000 and I need to send them an additional $500.00 and they would in turn send me a check for $1,000.00. I am still dealing with this situation, however I have not sent them the additional $500.00. I want everyone to know NOT to do business with ATT Direct TV. I do believe this is a scam even though when you call they answer ATT Direct TV but no other person at ATT Direct TV knows about this promotion.
