Type of a scam Other

I received a "Notice of continuation/new order offer" letter where it’s attempting to have me send payment for a magazine subscription. The order form’s terms and conditions, and guarantee, sound extremely phony and fraudulent.

Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

I live in Farmer City, IL and received what looks like a bill but states it is an offer from an independent company to a one year subscription to TV Guide at the extremely high price of $79.95. One year subscription to T.V. Guide is actually $16.50.

APG – Atlantic Publishing Group, LLC sent what appears to be an invoice for renewal of a magazine subscription to People magazine to my aged mother (93 years old). Two major issues with this: 1) she did not subscribe to People and 2) the renewal price of $179.95 is over two times the current annual rate to subscribve to this magazine. My suspicion is that this company is scamming the elderly by sending out these fake invoices. The only reason we caught it is that I double-check all of my mother’s bills.

Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

Sent me an invoice for a magazine that I subscribe to. This is not the legal entity that usually bills for this magazine.

Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

A magazine "offer" for three times the price of the subscription through the magazine’s (Women’s World) own website. The cost of the 50 issue subscription through the magazine is $59.00, the cost through Atlantic Publishers Group, LLC is $159.90.

I did not send them money but wanted to report them as a fraudulent business. The false invoice was sent to both myself and my grandmother. I am referring to her as the person scammed below.

Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

I received a bill for Guideposts Magazine for 1 year at $49.95. I subscribe to Guideposts directly and their two (2) year subscription is $25.97. Guideposts has not authorized APG to sell their magazines and since this is using the US Mail, I think it is fraudulent.

The bill asks me to respond within a week.

I don’t know where they got my name and address or how they know I subscribe to Guideposts, but this is unethical at best and fraudulent at worst. I’m also reporting it to the US Postal Inspector.
