Type of a scam Employment

It sounded legit. I read through everything carefully and I consider myself an intelligent person, I didn’t have to pay anything up front, I didn’t have to give them any of my banking information, they would pay me through paypal. All I would have to do is receive packages at my home, take some pictures, repack them and send them back out. The company would pay for all the shipping. I talked to the same gentleman on the phone several times from the same phone number. I had an issue with one package that I sent and was on the same receipt as another which was why I received a text every morning asking when I would send it. The text would come from a different number, that was strange. It wasn’t until some of the packages were returned to me that I realized that this was a total scam. Of course like any other trusting person, I was actually counting on the "wages" I was earning and now I’m so very disappointed. The problem is that now I have all this merchandise in my home that is probably stolen and I don’t know what to do with it. It literally is eating me up inside. I’m an honest person and I don’t know what to do.
