Type of a scam Debt Collections

A man called me being very rude saying I had an american eagle credit card that I owed like $400 on and now with interest and fees I owed over $600. I advised him that I never had an American Eagle credit account and I would dispute this charge if I have proper documentation sent to me about when and where I used an Americab Eagle Cradit card. Because I advised him that I was going to dispute this he became very upset and said “no one is going to pull store cameras to show your purchases it just doesn’t work like that”. So I’m like how else are they going to prove that I used a credit card from them. He was just very rude and very willing to accept a settle payment of four hundred and something( can’t remember the exact amount) but he did know the last four of my social which I know it’s hard for scammers to get. I was just very startled by the call and the mans tone. I have MS(multiple sclerosis) so things like this really work up my anxiety and definitely isn’t good for my health! I know I have never had a credit card with American Eagle or had anything from them on my credit since I am in a home buyer program I get my credit pulled often. I have no problem clearing any debt or credit I owe as in buying a home you learn to do that so trying to become a homeowner I do that already. I hope this helps and maybe I will hear from him again or maybe not. Just didn’t feel comfortable with the call so my mother told me to report it. Thanks for your time!
