Total money lost $400

Type of a scam Tech Support

While I was online, everything froze up. Received a msg & phone # to call 1-866-217-8835 which i did. They showed me that there was no firewall, that my computer and all other devices were infested with foreign spyware and all our personal data was compromised. He had control of my computer screen thruout the hr i spent on phone. Said the network was corrupted and to fix was $190. Then he "transferred" me to another dude who said they could provide 3 yrs of cyber security for an additional $210. Like a fool I gave him my credit card info and email address. They called back again to get my system password which made me suspicious so I called the real Apple & was told it was a phishing scam. Immediately called to cancel credit card but the $400 charge had already gone thru.

Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

I got an invoice that looked like it came from Apple for an App ($49) that I didn’t purchase. There was a link at the bottom of the invoice to use to report problems with the transaction. That link takes you to a page that looks like the Apple sign in page where it asks for your Apple ID and password. When I checked in later with Apple, they said there was no charge and is was a scam so I changed my Apple password.
