Called stating "Pamela from the office of API, I’m contacting you today in regards to the pre-legal claim that’s been filed against you here in my office. At this point in time, it is pertinent that I hear from you voluntarily if you’d like to have this case dismissed prior to further action being taken against you in (my county). I do need to get a statement on file from you prior to the filing. My direct number is 866-801-4876 ext.238". She then provided me with a legal file #.

Also left same message with my spouse.

I ignored.

Received call from her AT WORK and she stated "if I don’t contact her she would talk to my HR Department and my County legal office".

I called her just out of curiosity and was transferred to her – she said it was for an unpaid pay day loan. Gave me all this mumbo jumbo about how I ignored correspondence from two different credit agencies" and proceeded in giving me a toll free number to "verify that this wasn’t a scam".

Asked her to send me proof of this "claim". Received a very generic, unprofessional, letter. Went to their website which is also very generic.

Needless to say I didn’t call!

This is very scary!
