I found a legit looking job ad on Indeed.com. In the job description it said to send all resumes to ***********************, the “hiring manager” at Apex Systems. The next day I received an email stating that I received the job starting at $500/week. The scammer goes on to say that they was no need for an interview because this was a remote part-time position. I went along with it and emailed back a letter of acceptance. 30 minutes later I receive another email listing job responsibilities and that I would need to purchase some equipment to work from home such as a printer, computer, VoIP phone, etc. The scammer said he would send a check for $2950. $$2450 for equipment and $500 for the first weeks pay. Then asked my address and mobile number. At this point I knew it was a scam and reported it.
