Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill
Received an e-mail from my CEO’s e-mail account asking to pay an invoice soon and when I went to respond, it responded to a different e-mail address- [email protected] Before I realized it, I responded telling him to send the information so I could wire out the money. When he replied with the amount of $49,470 and it didn’t have my CEO’s signature on his e-mail, I knew it wasn’t real.
