Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

AND Media sent my company an invoice for $895 attention my brand new front desk person, *** I called to inquire about this invoice for "premium Online Services" as it had no detail, it was being sent to my receptionist and we didn’t order anything with them (I am a franchise and only use our internal website optimization vendors). When the man called me back from a Montreal, Quebec number 1.514.908.4431, he was very rude and said that we "verbally" agreed to a contract. When I asked who did and if he had a signed document he said "I can bill you off of a verbal agreement". I called bs, got very technical with him told him this was harassment and that I was going to report him to the BBB. Once he heard this, he said he would "cancel" the invoice. After the call, I tried to Google them, they didn’t come up; funny in that they claim to be a Google optimization company! I would hate another company to have to go through this or fall victim to this apparent "phishing" invoice and actually pay it. Please see attached image of the bogus invoice.

We received an invoice from this company for $895.00 for Premium Online Services, web page with independent URL – Keyword Description-Scannable Contact info-Social media links. It came shortly after the director left for a different job and a new one started working. Since we have our web services provided by a local company, I contacted them and they thought this was a scam. The invoice was dated 8/9/2019. In late September I received a call from the company rep who said the invoice was overdue and payment needed to be made as soon as possible and could be done with a credit card. I told him I did not recall talking with anyone about this service and that I did not want the product. He said that he could call back with a recording of the conversation. He called back a few minutes later and said that he could play the recording. After some fiddling around, he played it. It did have my voice, but the conversation was vague and I honestly do not remember having it. I certainly would not sign up for something that costs almost $900 over the phone without documentation. Again I told him I did not want the service and that I could not pay for it. He reduced the cost to $295 and again said that I could pay with a credit card. I said I needed an invoice which he said he would email. I have not received it. After the phone call I googled the company and came up with a hit on the Better Business Bureau site and there have been several others who have been contacted by them for the same thing. I definitely will not be paying this bill. Be aware. They sound official; their paperwork looks official.

Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

A representative from AND Media called our business, assisted living, to ask for myself. Our administrator took a message to call back David Wells. He let her know that an invoice was due. He had left the invoice number 11305 with her as well. When I called back the receptionist transferred me to David where he led me to believe that he had an overdue invoice. Each time I asked him what it was for he was vague and would not answer. David then said that it was for social media advertising, and that I talked to Jenny last month about this. I asked for the invoice to emailed to me, which he said he would do. He asked for a credit card payment which I inclined since I was going to receive the invoice and decided that was easier than cutting a check. All went well as I got off the phone. I instantly got a phone call from our credit card company informing us that they canceled the payment due to what appeared to be fraud. I never received my invoice either while this happened. I called the number back where the receptionist said that David was on the other line and would be there for the remainder of the day. The time was 3:00 PM CT.
