Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

Amtech Corporation (out of California) contacted me on 1/20/16 and told me I owed them $1,220.96 for office supplies for my business. I said I didn’t know who they were and they said that one of our sales reps placed a verbal order. She called me again that Friday saying we ordered a gift card from them. I knew it was a scam when I was charged for my Xerox machine, which I deal directly with Xerox for. I spoke with Joanne Roberts.

Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

Our company, RT Dygert, has received the same invoice for printer ink and freight from Amtech Corporation in Van Nuys CA. We do not have a relationship with this company nor did we order any product from them. They have also called our accounting staff and emailed a copy of the invoice. We have not paid them as we searched the internet and saw many other people reporting the same issue. I will be emailing them stating we are reporting the to the BBB.

December 16, 2015 Amtech representative called requesting to update data base information of office printer models. Slipped and provided information. Informed representative that Amtech does not provide printer products to facility. Representative quickly ended call. Discussed possibility of being phished with coworker.

Received Amtech invoice on December 24, 2015 for a verbal order. No order was authorized.

Called 12/24/2015, and twice on 12/28/15. Stated no order authorization was given and requested order cancelled. Cancellation requirement is 15 days of invoice date. Amtech Customer Care Center phone recording states that representative will return call in 3-5 days. That is after the 15-day grace period.

No payment will be sent. Have not received product. If product arrives, will return to sender.

Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

Amtech Corporation at 5632 Van Nuys Blvd #507, Van Nuys, CA. 91410 called my office & the man on the phone said a technician was on his way to fix our printer and he needed the model #. I explained that he must have called us by mistake because we don’t have a Hewlett Packard printer and we didn’t call for a technician. He got annoyed and hung up. Then 2 weeks later an invoice showed up in the mail for supplies that we did not order or receive. The invoice was for $1,284.46 and had a flyer for a $100 AMEX gift card payable to me. I just have to include my "name and info with payment of your the attached invoice." Then today I got a call from "Cynthia Smith" in Accounting requesting payment on our invoice. I asked her to fax me a copy, I received the copy but this whole thing is a SCAM. I tried calling back and got a voicemail saying someone would return my call in 3-5 days. We have never ordered or received anything from this company.

Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

False invoice received from AMTECH Corp. of Van Nuys, CA for "office supplies". The invoice identified correctly the type of printer we use and all billing information; however it does not specify any part numbers or item descriptions. We did not order anything from them, nor have been contacted by them for anything other than receiving the false invoice. All calls to them go directly to voicemail and go unanswered. Numerous complaints are posted by other businesses and for exactly the same reason and amount of the invoice.
