If you search for a Bengal Kitten for sale, AmiableBengals.com comes up as the top google search. Mendi claims to be a breeder in his spare time with 14 week old Kittens, and has reviews on his website. I reached out through the form on his website (which is very similar to reputable Bengal breeding websites, simple Java layout with pictures of kittens and an application form) and received a friendly response asking about the living situation as many cat breeders do. The conversation took a turn when I asked if we could pay in cash at the time of pick up because I did not feel comfortable with the risk of sending money through moneygram or western union. He mentioned that he needed $100 to issue a visiting ticket to come to his home and see the cats. This $100 is 95% refundable if I was not happy. Thinking this could be a scam, I offered to send the money insured through my bank which is when he got aggressive saying that I was a waste of his time and that he told me numerous times that he only accepts moneygrams (something he hadn’t told me and was likely feeding to another buyer about to get scammed) and claimed that reviews were written by his competition. I would advise to stay away. We made the stupid mistake of giving our address in the application and are now concerned about that.
