I got a voice mail at work from American Recovery Systems, a woman, advising me to call back. I called back, spoke to James White, he said I had a debt from 11 years ago. He threatened to forward my information for a legal subpoena to go to court. And if they were unable to reach me at my residence, they would come to my work place. I told him I would have my attorney call him, and he said sure no problem. I told him I would look at my statements and get back to him. The balance is $907.38, but they would accept $453.69. He said I would be reported to Chex Systems, and if I didn’t take care of this I would not be able to open a checking account.
