Not a real company. Emailed me with a job offer based on an on-line resume. I did not respond but looked up the company on-line and found these types of experiences.

A man named "Bob Olson" about a "resume I posted", which I don’t have any idea of how that may have just been "posted". You see in the attachment he wants me for a position at his office. I did not respond to that, however from a different number listed in the email, a woman, "Irene," had called from the seemingly same company: American Income Life. I cancelled the first interview and she seemed not that upset to reschedule. I am currently looking up companies, thankfully, to research before interviews and came across the website, the ending of "Bob Olson"’s email address which if you happen to google, it doesn’t have company reviews, just malware and spam warnings. The email address from which I received the message from was at the email I provided. Throughout the recent past 10 days, I additionally saw on the "malware beware" site that this organization has targeted and the nature of it. I saw at least 10 scams this week alone in my area reported for fraud in the line of the employment realm.

This company advertises for a customer service opening and when you get there you are put in a room with others and given a presentation for insurance sales. Complete waste of time after being assured that the opening is for customer service specifically.

Type of a scam Employment

I was employed by this company under the table to make phone calls to innocent people who placed their resumes on employment sites like Monster, Beyond, and Career Builder and offer then a job that did not exist. I was given a script to state I received their resume and wanted to offer them an entry level job for an administrative position based on their skill level and that I wanted to interview them the following day at 10:15am in the office. I was encouraged to lie about our true intentions and to say anything to get them to show up. These people would drive over an hour sometimes to reach the office only to discover they were tricked into sitting in a 45 min- 2 hour presentation about life insurance and encouraged to join and become an agent. At no point was I given a job description or contact for my position. I was even told to use my own cell phone to make the calls. I was threatened to be fired if I didn’t get at least 3 people hired a week. The entire office was filled with lies and they are deceiving innocent people. I quit the job after a week but they just hire more people to take my place. What they are doing is at least unethical if not illegal. I was even told to distort the name of the company when I called so people couldn’t look it up before they showed up for the interview. I was terrified I wouldn’t get paid since I had no real job security there.

I had posted resumes on "INDEED" and JOB BOOM looking for employment as a Transport driver supervisor, or as a truck driver. Received an email stating that they had seen my resume and that I would be perfect for the job. The job is selling life insurance. The catch is they want approx. $500.00 upfront to cover processing fees and training supplies etc. The first months are training and there is no income. I did a google search and there is a lot of info about these scammers online. Here is the email I received

"One of our Senior Managers reviewed your resume online and is interested in speaking with you about a position with our company. Unfortunately we have not had any luck getting in contact with you. Please call Christopher Hintz, Recruiting Manager with our Edmonton office at 780- 240- 7322. Monday through Wednesday from 8:00AM to 12:00PM to schedule your first interview ASAP. Mention my name so they know I screened your resume.

Thanks,
