Type of a scam Tech Support

Red flashing warning on computer saying it was in jeopardy. Phone number to call identified as Microsoft. I expressed my concern about scam and I was somehow connected to America Geeks who assured me that they would take care of me and warned me about these scammers.

In August of 2016, I paid Geeks for a Support License, 3 years Network Security, for $199.99. (Lasted 1 yr 4 months)

In January of 2018 I was contacted & told that Geeks was changing their name to Tech Ninja. Even though my first 3 year contract was not up, they talked me into a Lifetime Firewall Security for $549.99.

(My lifetime membership lasted 2 Years)

Feb 7, 2020. I called in & they performed a screen sharing and showed me where people were trying to get into my computer. They showed me these viruses and told me I needed to pay an additional $299.00 for better security. I informed them that I had a lifetime Firewall Security. They said that needed improvement. I asked to talk to a supervisor and requested a letter stating why I needed the upgrade.

I never received an email, so I tried back by phone. No answer on the numbers I had been given to call. I knew I had been scammed. Loss of $749.98. Thankful I didn’t fall for an additional $299.00. When are these scammers going to stop? Scary to think they have all my personal information from my computer since they have done numerous screen sharing sessions.
