Type of a scam Employment

LinkedIn scam contacted me for a freelance graphic design job, was emailed a bunch of information and asked to use Google Hangout app to communicate. Did a interview over the app and it seemed fine the lady (Madeline Landis) was odd didn’t answer ally question, picked one she wanted it answer.  Contacted me for several days super early was very freak out ish and pushy about me answering her immediately. Just seemed annoying or a difficult HR lady as a person tbh.  Sent me a employee agreement papert sign amd provide a state ID. After that they sent me a check in the mail for some equipment and asked me it deposit it, the check was fake looking, it was a pixilated signature, it have 2 different states on the thing and it was just over all odd. So I took it to my bank and asked to see some one about it they said it was fake and it’s a part of some scams going around, I even went to the bank it was registered fpfpr and asked them and they confirmed it was a fake account and destroyed the check.  I told "Madeline" as she wanted a status update that it’s fake and I want to see her HR manager to which she asked with bad grammer(she had lots of miss spellings over the course we talked and seemed copy past with replies)  in what way it was fake. I told her nothing amd confronted her In the end she blocked me.

I’m not helping them improve their scam in any way but over all it still sucks this is a thing and that I didn’t trust my guy sooner. Now they have my ID info and address but I have lots of security and help so there’s that.  :/
