I received a phone call from a blocked number. A man named Kenneth advised that he was an independent process server, and will be serving me papers the next day between 3-5 PM. He advised that I needed to call the company with my account to schedule. He advised he did not have my current address, that he would receive that information once I set it up with collection agency. He advised that if I did not, then it would be filed as non-responsive. He gave me a very short file number, 112203, that I needed to identify myself with the company.

I called the number he gave me, (832) 664-7325, which immediately played some hold music. A woman then picked up, said the company was called Alternative Receipt Resolution.

She had my last 4, and said this was for a Wells Fargo account I had for 4 years, that was closed over 10 years ago.

She asked that I confirm an address, I told her I hadn’t lived there in years. At which point she advised me that it’s apparent that I haven’t updated my address with Wells Fargo and they have been sending correspondence to that address.

I told her I did, however, receive the correspondence regarding the class action lawsuit against Wells Fargo so my information must be updated in their database.

At which point she said "I can see that you’re not going to pay" and hung up on me.

She told me I had exactly $500 in overdraft fees and that if I wanted to go to court to defend myself it could cost me in excess of $2000.

I never gave any personal information other than my name, and telling her that her information was long outdated.
