Type of a scam Rental

After finding a posting for a loft rental on Craigslist I contacted the name given on the site via text message to which a text replied asking to email for further details. After I emailed I received a confusing email with wrong information – wrong address and wrong rental price, I emailed to clarify and it was clarified to what the posting said. I asked several times to see the unit and each time that question was avoided until the last email, to which the response is below:

“The apartment is currently occupied until September 20th as against early October move-in.

Showing can be arranged with the landlord/unit owner on ground at the end of the current lease, if the apartment is not taken on reservation by other intending tenants from home or abroad.

It’s possible to get first viewing opportunity for the unit at end of the current lease with the landlord on ground.

However the landlord reserves the right to rent it out or take it off market if any intending tenant commits to putting it on hold before then.

You can start renting or move-in October 5th, on a long term with an option to renew and extend at the end. Due to high volume of inquiries from other intending tenants home and abroad, a reservation deposit will guarantee availability of the apartment at the end of the current lease to secure and hold the unit in your name to avoid missing out on it.

A rental application form must be filled and submitted for screening and approval by the landlord before renting/reservation can be accepted.
