Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I was contacted via Poshmark by someone interested in a dress that I am selling. I provided them with my email address and my work address to send a check to. I was asking $200 for the dress and received a check for $1,480. The check had Allied Federal Credit Union on it, but no phone number, which was my second red flag. This person was very insistent that I take the listing down (I didn’t) and that I deposit the check right away (again, I did not). What this person didn’t know is that I have a degree in finance. Mistake on their part. Used the name Vanessa Fanzo and email address [email protected]
