Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

I first rec’d a message from a Christina asking if we rec’d the invoices, I had no idea what she was talking about, since I am in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and handle all incoming bills and I haven’t even heard of this company before. I called the number back and was surprised to hear a random gentleman within a residence on the other line telling me I had the wrong number. After 3 times calling the number back and getting the same gentleman, I looked the company up online and saw it was a scam. Then 2 days later I received the invoices in the mail. I noticed right away that it had our street number wrong on our address and the Customer Contact name was wrong and that we have never used them to order any toner cartridges at any time cuz we use another vendor. The day after I received the invoices I got another call from Christina checking status on invoices. I told her at the time that they were in review to be approved or not. Today the purchasing agent confirmed that we have never ordered any items from this company. So I called the company and a woman answered, I had to repeat the name of our company a few times but she very quickly without asking for acct# or invoices numbers said she would cancel both of the invoices and quickly hung up. To me that was a big red flag that they were scammers. Cuz if it was legit, they would have asked for a lot more info to prove we didn’t receive the items.

This company is sending out fake invoices to business in hopes that no one is checking to see if they actually ordered the items and just paying the invoice. This is just wrong!! I have attached the fake invoices for review for they deserve to be stopped.
