Type of a scam Tech Support

I believed I was scammed. While searching online in a reverse telephone directory for the location of a telemarketing call my search narrowed down to India but when I tried to pin point where in India my system crashed, screen went blank and a pop up ad appeared saying I had been invaded by an adward virus and I should immediately call the number on the pop up. Well, dumb [censored] that I am, I called and was convinced by the customer service representative that my computer was in serious trouble and I needed to immediately have it checked and cleaned by their company. I should have hung up then and there but instead agreed to have the company’s technical trouble-shooter access my computer remotely and get rid of the cookies, bugs, viruses and other invasive programs. Unfortunately while speaking to the Oga LLC customer service rep I gave him credit card numbers and date of birth and home address and telephone numbers. The service tech then supposedly checked my system remotely and removed all the offending programs, cookies and whatever utilities were infecting my system. The bill was originally $290 then raised to $350. The next day I spoke with Apple Computer (I work on a mac) and was told point blankly that the company that did the so-called repair work has no affiliation with Apple whatsoever. I assumed otherwise. Again – dumb [censored] me. Apple then assigned a technician to check my computer remotely, found and removed numerous items that might be cause for concern. I cannot categorically state any of them were installed by Oga LLC but at that point they still had complete entry to my computer system which Apple cancelled. I then called the credit card company to report the possible fraud and cancelled the card. I also called Comcast who is my internet service provider and they were no help at all and instead tried to sell me a monthly online protection program. I also visited my local police department to make a report but not one policeman was available to take a statement. Bottom line. I may be out the $350 even though I reported the possible fraud to my credit card company and they have put it in dispute mode but my real question is: how did Oga LLC’s message and phone number immediately appear on my monitor after it crashed? Seems a bit odd. Zillions of computers in the world, one crashes, and immediately a company pops up to the rescue. I sense something fishy in all of this. I’m not saying the Oga LLC company deliberately crashed my computer then galloped to the rescue but it seems like a good bet. Please. What are my options? Whom should I report this incident to? Is there any legal action I can take against Oga LLC. They may have an address in Hawaii but it’s quite possible there is no one there, only a mail drop. Have you received complaints against this company before? Is this a situation you might like to pursue further? If so, please get back to me and I’ll help in any way I can. Thank you. *** ***
