I live with my husband and his grandmother. While we were both at work, a worker came to the house stating he had extra material if she would like them to tuckpoint the chimney. It is something that we have been looking into doing, and she agreed. They did the work, and tried to charge us $3,000, but ended up paying $1,500.

Once I was informed of the incident, I researched the amount we should have been charged, which was much different than what we were charged (should have been around $500). I then researched the company, and found that this is what they do. They prey on older people, and say that they have extra material from a previous job in the area. And then charge an amount that was not agreed upon.

After I was made aware of the situation we attempted to put a stop pay on the check, but it was already to late. It is very unfortunately that people like this take money that people do not have.
