Scammer makes contact via email, text and phone. She asks if you are currently seeking employment and advises resumes are found in a database. They ask if you are working, full-time or as a contractor, currently. The jobs they create are very close to the opportunities as the positions held on resume. They ask questions about your experience they should already know if they have a full copy of your resume. After asking questions like a real recruiter, they ask what your current salary is and then tell you what the salary is of the phantom position they have. Typically it’s a well known company and they are quick to tell you who the company is – which is something real recruiters do not do. The coup de gras is to ask the month and date of your birth as well as last four digits of social security number. Their explanation is that this very well known company tracks potential employees through the employment process.
